The ‘Tarot with Bonnie and Peter’ Podcast

Tarot with Bonnie and Peter Show Tile

Join us as we explore the wisdom the cards offer & bring a touch of magic into our lives.

A little over a year ago, after one of several meetings over coffee, Bonnie planted a seed. She said something along the lines of, we always have lots to say about the Tarot… we should start a podcast!

Bonnie and I first meet a few months earlier via a local hands-on Tarot group called “Tarot & Tea”, hosted at our local Tarot-friendly shop ‘Healing Moon’ on Mill St. in Orangeville, Ontario. We read for each other a few times and really hit it off. Our individual approach to the Tarot is a little different but we are equally passionate about our practice. And, we could talk Tarot with each other for hours on end!

We met a few times to sketch out our idea. We wanted to make the Tarot easier and more accessible. We identified our ‘typical’ listener as someone who is curious about the Tarot, who may even have dabbled a little, but, for some reason or another, are hesitant to move forward with their Tarot practice. We also wanted to appeal to those who are familiar with the Tarot and are looking for a supportive and practical space to deepen their knowledge.

With our vision and goals in mind, we set out to record and launch three episodes: an introduction to us as hosts, a focus on the myths that might be an entry barrier to the Tarot initiate, and an outline of six of our favourite decks.

We hit ‘upload’ on May 11, 2024.

On ‘Tarot with Bonnie and Peter, we have chatted about the cards themselves. We have episodes about each of the group of pip cards - those are the cards in a Tarot deck numbered one through ten. That’s right! An episode all about the Aces, the Twos, and so on. Our episodes also cover the court cards, and the use of the four classic elements: fire, water, air, and earth. And, regardless of the episode topic, EVERY episode ends with Bonnie, me, and our guest, doing a one-card draw, the perfect tool for learning practical card meanings.

Speaking of guests, we’ve had some great conversations so far. We began with Janine Worthington, creator of ‘The In Between Tarot’ deck and Chair of TABI. We have since added a number of great guests including Sasha Graham, T. Susan Chang, Barbara Moore, and Mary K. Greer! We’ve also chatted with deck creator Barbara Moore, Card Slinger Liz Worth, Magician and owner of The Hermit’s Lamp Andrew McGregor, and many more. Click on the video to check out all of our guest episodes.

Bonnie and I also want to bring our own practice to the forefront and include the successful parts and the bumps along the way. Some episodes focus on our use of parallel systems such as Astrology or the four elements. Others highlight practical ways to use the Tarot in everyday life via intention setting or ritual. And still others touch on the elements of readings like ‘the Art of Asking Questions’, ‘Dealing with Difficult Cards’, or ‘What To DO When You Draw a Blank?’.
